The 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea formally inaugurate today, and is revering the Games with a new series of dynamic Doodle snow games. The 23rd winter games are set to take place from February 9th to February 25th.
The animated doodle that appeared on Google’s homepage on Friday, features a sequence of animated animal athletes contending for grandeur. The animation kicks off with a magpie, which is considered as a good luck symbol in Korea, flying like an airplane and then coming to rest on top of Google logo. The games are then swiftly underway with a penguin sledding down an icy slope followed by ski-jumping dogs, who perform few tricks here and there and a skating snake, which effortlessly leaps into a single footed triple axel. That is quite a show considering it’s only the first day.
The Doodle snow games appear as the first of a total series that counts to 17. The developers at Google have already prepared a new Doodle for each day of the winter Olympics, where a total of 92 countries compete in more than 100 events. Eritrea, Kosovo, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Singapore are some of the countries that are participating in the games for the first time.
Competitions in the events of ice hockey, skating, curling, snowboarding, alpine skiing, are luge is going to entertain the audiences throughout the world. The winter games are set to chill the expectations and Doodle snow games throughout the events will surely charm the global spectators.
